The Tutor
Having trained at Mansfield School of Art, Sheffield Polytechnic and Goldsmiths in London, John worked for a design agency before a short spell in Her Majesty's Forces, where his photographic knowledge made him ideal for reconnaissence work and his painting skills were put to use; portraits in both mediums still hang on the walls of the Company's HQ and in various books and magazines.
Later he set up his own successful design company in Nottinghamshire that he ran for almost twenty years, honing his skills further when working for such clients as Tarmac, John Menzies, Tesco's, Halifax Property and Asda to name a few.
During this time John also found time to teach and guest-lectured at local private schools and colleges with his students attaining above-average results.
In the early two thousands John and Sue bought a small cottage in the Shehe Mountains of West Cork Ireland and fell in love with the country and people.
Later he sold his company and moved with his wife Sue and all the dogs to France to work on La Chabotterie - the home of Le Studio - and return to his true roots: Photography, Painting and Drawing. He has successfully held one man exhibitions in the UK and France as well as inclusions in others across the globe.
This was the berthplace of the Photography Holidays, however although the location was great, neither John nor Sue realy felt at home the way they had in Ireland.
So almost ten years later they escaped and found the most fantastic new home back in the Emerald Isle.
Their new home has a separate building overlooking the harbor bay of Adrigole and houses most of the equipment needed to work on printing and presentation skills:- Mac,s and Laptops, Photo printers (both A4 and A2), Rotatrims, a small library, stocks of paper and ink cartridges etc.
